The cottage runs without running water or electricity in the usual sense. Drinking water is brought from the mainland, the wood stove and sauna are heated by hand, and a small solar unit provides light and phone charging. A compost toilet and natural biodegradable soaps keep things clean and eco-friendly.

Blueberry Cove comfortably sleeps up to four guests. The charming bedroom features a queen-size bed with cozy linens, perfect for restful nights surrounded by the quiet of nature. In the spacious main room—full of vintage character and natural light—there are two additional sleeping possibilities, ideal for friends or older children. Whether it’s curling up on the green daybed or spreading out on a sleeping mat under the wooden beams, the living room transforms into a peaceful shared sleeping space.

Sauna & Washing

There's no modern shower—instead, you’ll heat water on the sauna stove and wash the old-fashioned way, using lake water and a basin. Cooking & Dishes

Cooking at Blueberry Cove is a joyfully simple experience. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and a gas-powered fridge to keep your food fresh. There’s also a traditional wood stove that adds both warmth and atmosphere—perfect for slow breakfasts or simmering something hearty on a rainy day.

Out in the garden, you’ll find a gas grill ready for lakeside meals under the open sky.

Washing dishes is done by hand, just like in the old days: heat water on the stove, mix it with cold, and enjoy the meditative rhythm of simple living. It's all part of the charm—back to basics, without stress.

Activities

Blueberry Cove is the perfect place to slow down—or roam freely. The surrounding island spans over 40 hectares, most of it untouched nature within a protected Natura 2000 area. You’re free to explore the forest trails, discover hidden clearings, and truly immerse yourself in the silence and beauty of the wild.

During late summer and autumn, the island lives up to its name with wild blueberries everywhere—yes, real blueberry picking right outside your door! Mushroom foraging is another rewarding way to connect with the land, especially for those who love cooking with fresh finds.

For those drawn to the water, the included boat is equipped with a sonar/echolot and lake maps—perfect for fishing trips (just bring your own gear). Two stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) and life vests are also available, inviting you to glide across the calm lake at your own pace.
