🫐 Blueberry Cove – Private Island Farmhouse (Off-Grid, 1920s Charm)

Welcome to Blueberry Cove, a truly unique retreat on a private island in Lake Tarjanne. This historic 1920s farmhouse sits on a 1.8-hectare private plot, surrounded by over 40 hectares of untouched forest in a protected Natura 2000 nature reserve. There are no roads, no neighbors—just forest, lake, and silence.

If you're looking to unplug and reconnect with the essentials, this is your place. But please note: this is not for beginners. A camping mindset, wood-chopping skills, and basic outdoor experience are strongly recommended.

• One cozy bedroom with a queen-size bed

• Two additional sleeping spots in the spacious living room

• Fully off-grid: wood heating, gas cooking, solar lighting

• No running water or modern shower (washing is done sauna-style with heated lake water)

• Compost toilet

• Kitchen with gas stove, gas fridge, wood stove, and basic utensils

• Outdoor gas grill in the garden

• Traditional wood-fired sauna

🚣‍♀️ Getting There

You’ll park your car at the lakeshore (car recommended), pick up fresh drinking water and take the boat provided. A GPS-equipped sonar system guides you on the 3.5 km journey across Lake Tarjanne to the island. The crossing is calm and beautiful—and it’s where your off-grid adventure truly begins.

🌿 What to Do

• Pick wild blueberries right outside your door (seasonal)

• Forage mushrooms in the surrounding forest

• Explore over 40 hectares of protected island wilderness

• Fish with your own gear—boat includes sonar and maps

• Paddle with two included SUP boards (life vests provided)

• Swim, sauna, read, wander, breathe. Repeat.

This stay is ideal for nature lovers, off-grid enthusiasts, and guests who are comfortable with rustic living. You’ll carry your own water, light your own fires, and split your own wood. It’s deeply rewarding—but not for the unprepared.
